Fancy a long weekend City Break in Prague? Czech this out for 10 things to do!
1) Charles Bridge & Lookout Tower
Charles Bridge is the oldest bridge still standing over the Vltava river in Prague and the second oldest bridge in the Czech Republic. It's one of the most popular locations in Prague, drawing large crowds which made walking across it quite slow! It's a very pretty looking coddle-stone bridge with great views of the river either side. You might even spot a beaver!
The Lookout Tower (or Old Town Bridge Tower) is located on the East side. As you walk under the tower arch (from the East side) there is a small door on the left side, with a small stone staircase that leads up to the top of the tower, where the lookout platform is. It costs about £5 entry, and we quite enjoyed it. The views from the top are really beautiful, especially at sunset. It's a great spot for people watching too, as crowds swarm over the bridge.
2) Venice Prague Boat Tour
There are a few different options for boat tours in Prague, but we liked the look of Venice Prague Boat Tours, as they were smaller boats and seemed to offer a more relaxed and pleasant experience. Which we can confirm was the case. Your tour ticket also comes with a drink (beer, wine, tea, coffee) and a snack (such a ginger bread).
You are given a fresh pair of headphones that you can plug in to the side where you are seated and listen to a recorded guide tell you all sorts of interesting facts about Prague and it's history. Tickets cost around £12.
3) Beer Tasting
Beer tasting in Prague was fantastic! If you're like me and would rather try 4 or 5 smaller measures of different beers, instead of a pint of just one, then trying a few beer paddles whilst in Prague is a must!
The 3 places we tried out ourselves, and would 100% recommend are: U Kunštátů, Prague Beer Museum & Craft Beer Spot Prague. All of these offer "beer paddles" of 5 or 6 beers (usually around 0.30ml each). You can then select from the beer list which ones you'd like to try! Lovely stuff!
4) Old Town Square & Clock Tower
The Clock Tower - Located on the Old Town Square is the Prague Astronomical Clock that you can view from the street. Then venture to the top of the tower for beautiful views of the city.
5) Illusion Art Museum
The Illusion Art Museum isn't far from the Old Town Square. It is very weird and wonderful museum, full of interesting illusions in the form of paintings, sculptures, still life and lots more. Definitely worth visiting! It'll keep you very entertained for an hour!
6) Petrin Tower
Located in PetÅ™Ãn Gardens the Petrin Tower offers a fantastic view over the city of Prague. Tickets to enter were cheap and it wasn't overcrowded. Not much more to say on that really.
7) Fooooooood
Food in Prague was pretty great. A whole lot of meat basically. We were there in December and it was fairly cold, so the Beef Goulash was always a great choice!
There were also loads of street food stands which were perfect for when you were on the move and not wanting to sit down and wait for food too.
We would highly recommend visiting The Street. Their burgers are amazing! And their cocktails are unreal! It might not be traditional Czech food, but it’s not one to miss.
8) Prague Castle
A pretty impressive and interesting place to wonder around. We didn't do much more than actually walk through the grounds and into a few of the old dungeon rooms, but if you're a history buff, you'll probably do a lot more than that.
9) Wenceslas Square
A cool area for a bit of shopping. Whilst we were there they had a food and drinks market set up in the middle, with loads of decent street snack choices, and great Turkish coffee made in hot sand.
10) Black Angles Bar and rooftop
Black Angles Bar was a really cool place for a few drinks with live piano music. No photos are allowed which is great, because it keeps the Influencers quiet.
Terasa U Prince has a great rooftop terrace where you can get a drink looking out at the famous Clock Tower.
We hope this has given you a few ideas to add to the list for a few days in Prague.
Thanks for reading.
